🇯🇵

I want to have a pre-shoot in Kyoto in autumn, my favorite season! It had been a dream of mine for a long time. When it came time to make it happen, I searched for “Kyoto pre-shoot” on a social networking service and found Wasao’s photos among many others. I fell in love at first sight with the photos that matched the natural expressions of the subjects and the softly cropped natural scenery, and thought, “This is the guy. I sent a message to him with the joy and vigor of having found my ideal photographer, and he immediately responded to my message and answered my many questions in detail. Thanks to the online meeting we had beforehand, I was able to go into the pre-shoot in a natural way without any nervousness.
On the day of the shoot, even while in the car on the way to the location, he expanded on the conversation from our meeting and about our backgrounds, which made me feel even more relaxed. Wasao’s frank personality also made the trip very enjoyable ✨.
During the shoot, he gave us instructions on poses and complimented us a lot, so we were able to enjoy the shoot feeling like models 🥰 His mother who came to attend to our dressing was also very kind, fixing our kimono every time it fell apart and carefully teaching us how to handle the accessories, so we could move around without worries (lol). Also, even when I was having a hard time in the kimono, which I was not used to, she said, “You did a great job! I was really happy that his mother was there for me 🥲✨.
Even though the location of the shoot was far away and the shooting time was longer than planned, they were very attentive to the end of the shoot, and I am so grateful to them. We were able to get sample photos that night, and we were immediately able to enjoy the aftermath. ☺️ We were also very happy with Wasao-san’s thoughtfulness in carefully spelling out his message to us, rather than just a business communication message 🌸.
A month later, the long-awaited data delivery arrived. I was very pleased with myself for finding Wasao-san, and I was very pleased that my eyes had not gone crazy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ We were smiling in a natural way at the mysterious temple in Kyoto and the scenery of autumn leaves. The composition, the light, the colors, everything made me very, very happy with the results, and I could feel the conversation, the sounds, the temperature, and even the wind in each photo.
I think the reason we were able to take such wonderful photos was because we had a detailed meeting beforehand and were able to shoot in a safe and comfortable environment. Above all, I am convinced that it was Wasao’s own personality that made it possible. I believe that photographs reveal a person’s personality. I felt that because Wasao was taking photos in a lively and happy manner, we, the people being photographed, also looked happy, and that it was his thoughtfulness toward us (the customers) that made the photos warm and wonderful. I look at the photos every day, sobbing, wanting to show them off to my family and friends as soon as possible. ☺️🌸
It has been a long time coming, but I am so glad that Wasao was the one I entrusted my old dream of having a pre-shoot in Kyoto to. I hope to ask you again for my next starry sky shoot and my child’s Shichigosan… ✨Thank you for the best photos and the best time 😊✨.

It was my dream to have my pre-wedding photo taken in traditional Japanese clothing in Japan, and when I found Wasao, I knew he was the one😆 His use of light, his way of deciding on a composition that doesn’t ruin the scenery, his communication in English, and Wasao’s mother’s consideration – it was a wonderful experience that far exceeded my expectations! The communication before the shoot was smooth, and the location and shooting flow was explained in detail, so I felt comfortable and at ease on the day of the shoot. We were not familiar with Kyoto, so he listened to our requests and gave us many suggestions for locations. On the day of the shoot,  the entire shoot proceeded in a relaxed atmosphere.  Although we’re not normally used to having our picture taken, he always said “Please be who you guys are no problem! “, which helped us put natural expressions😭 Also, he was very knowledgeable about the beautiful locations in Kyoto, and his choice of light and background was truly exquisite. I almost felt sick in the kimono, which was heavier than I had expected and unfamiliar to me, but thanks to Wasao’s mother’s help in adjusting the kimono throughout the shoot, we were able to finish the shoot without any problems! I was particularly impressed with the shooting style that brought out the beauty of the kimono to the fullest. She paid attention to every detail of the kimono and made every single movement and posture look beautiful, so that every shot ended up looking like a scene from a movie. I was filled with emotion when I saw the finished photos, which clearly showed off the charm of the kimono along with the traditional Kyoto scenery. They were also very attentive to our enjoyment during the shoot, and we were able to spend a relaxed time with smiles on our faces. Even if you are not fond of having your picture taken, I am sure it will be a fun and memorable shoot! The finished photos were all wonderful and I will treasure them forever. I would highly recommend Wasaphotography to anyone considering a Japanese kimono pre-shoot in Kyoto. Professionalism, warmth, and a beautiful Kyoto location made for a great shooting experience!

We had the pleasure of working with Wasao for our pre-wedding photoshoot in Japan, and it was truly unforgettable. This was our first trip post-COVID, and finding Wasao through Instagram was a stroke of luck. His fluent English made communication seamless, which was a huge plus for us.
Wasao went above and beyond by planning the perfect locations and arranging kimono rentals ahead of time. We appreciated the pre-meeting where he took the time to get to know us and understand our style. Despite being camera shy, Wasao effortlessly captured our natural interactions, making the entire experience incredibly enjoyable. The photos turned out amazing and genuinely reflected our personalities. We also love his kid photo collection, and we’re already looking forward to returning to Japan for a family photoshoot when we have a new addition to our family.
Wasao’s professionalism, attention to detail, and warm demeanor made our photoshoot an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer in Japan!
