Kyoto: Ninnaji Temple

Ninna-ji Temple is one of Kyoto’s most famous cherry blossom spots. Every spring, the precincts are beautifully colored with weeping cherry trees, someiyoshino cherry trees, and other cherry blossoms. Among them, the Omurozakura, which blooms all over the west side of the inner gate, is exceptional, and the Omurozakura, which has been loved by the common people since the Edo period, is famous for its late blooming cherry blossoms. Even in Kyoto, where there are many cherry blossom viewing spots, many people visit this popular cherry blossom viewing spot. In 1924, Omurozakura was designated as a national scenic spot. Please visit Ninna-ji Temple to see the cherry blossoms in the spring season. Of course, it is beautiful when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, but when the cherry blossoms begin to fall, the fallen petals look like a “pink carpet” and are very beautiful. In addition, there is a huge five-storied pagoda with a total height of 36.18m, which is designated as an important cultural property in the precincts. Like the five-storied pagoda of Toji Temple, it is characterized by the appearance that there is not much difference in the width of each layer from the upper to the lower layers.
