Nene no Michi is a beautiful stone-paved road of about 250 meters in length that runs from Maruyama Park in Higashiyama to Kiyomizudera on the west side of Kodaiji Temple. There are no electric wires on Nene no Michi, and electric wires are laid underground so that you can fully feel the atmosphere of ancient Kyoto. In addition, Nene no Michi is a great walking spot where you can enjoy the beautiful nature of the four seasons, such as cherry blossoms and autumn leaves! Feel the four seasons of Kyoto while walking. Maruyama Park, which is located on the east side of Yasaka Shrine, is the oldest park in Kyoto city and opened in 1886. It is a famous spot for cherry blossoms, represented by the Gion weeping cherry tree, and has developed as the city’s premier recreational area since ancient times. Ipponbashi is a stone bridge over the Shirakawa River, which runs through Higashiyama Ward and Sakyo Ward. You can enjoy the cool willow trees that line the quiet Shirakawa River from spring to autumn.
